so hitched up the panda on Boxing Day for the first longish drive with a van for me, a 3 hour trip.
When leaving home I had the new Red Arc break controller set at a level that when I breaked, I could just feel the pull of the trailer once the breaks activated. All is good. But at the end of th drive, I noticed when pulling into a town, I could no longer feel that initial "pull" or sight clunk on the ball I could when I left. But all good, the breaking still felt OK. However we parked in town for around 40 mins for lunch before our final 15 min drive to the Holliday park, and interestingly, when I pulled out the "pull" was back. But I had not touched the break controller.
So I'm wondering if the breaks are heating up during the long drive, and it's affecting the breaking performance.
I felt the hubs of the van, and they were pretty warm to touch, but not red hot. The disks were pretty hot though, by I would expect that??
I'm wondering if the wheel bearings might need adjusting? How would I know?
Is it common for this break feeling (or lack there of) to occurs after longer drives?
