I need help deciding where to stay between Cairns & Daintree. My initial plan was to stay at one of the Caravan Parks in Port Douglas - but they are booked out, and didn't really want to stay out at the Big 4 which is out of town (but will if it's recommended)

so my choices are:
  • Big 4 Port Douglas
  • Pinnacle Village Wonga Beach
will also be having 6 nights at Cairns Big 4 and 3 nights at Cape Tribulation. I have two boys aged 6 & 4.

thanks, hope you can help :)

thanks. I have done a thorough search of these forums and was just reading up on your adventures up north :) we will be coming up from Mackay, so plan to stay a few nights at Mission Beach Big 4, then on to Cairns, the Cape Tribulation then Wonga Beach or Port Douglas, then to Paronella Park and back home again. 16 nights in total in about a months time.

yes palm cove is good and yes on beach close to jetty across the road good the fisherman we did the day trip to cape trib from there it was a long day but if your not taking van across Daintree river mite be good place to leave van and base your self close enough to cairns heaps to do and see and palm cove is lovely better than port Douglass
