Has anybody done the factory tour and is it worth having a look. Thinking about booking in and having a look as our new van is due in October..

Definitely worth a look. Very interesting, as they talk heavily about their "quality control" and how it is managed but just seeing how it all comes together is eye opening.

They do give out a couple of freebies and a cup of coffee as well. :p

I have been meaning to do one. I would love to get stuck into their customer feedback process.
I cannot fathom how they can continue to struggle with quality, considering the volume of feedback they get through warranty.
In the automotive world we live and die by independent TGW (things gone wrong) ratings.
It's not rocket science. Tally the warranty claims and start hitting the biggest during manufacturing... Work your way down the list.

We just missed out in doing it. Other couple we spoke to did it and found it amazing. They way everything is timed and just rolls along........ Wish we dot to melbourne a day earlier to see.

We did the tour late last year before getting delivery of our 20.63.1OB and now understand how Jayco do what they do for the money.. Only part that disappointed us was the lack of OHS on the floor.. Was interesting to see how they all get stuck together though in case I need to do some mods in the future..

If only they allowed well supervised children, we would drive over just to do the tour, especially around the time our new van will be under production. I know it's a factory and safety is an issue but I work in OH&S (don't shoot me, I don't make the rules but try to interpret them in a way that doesn't bring my work to a complete halt) and the big issue is letting the public in, not the age of the public.
