Hi all, we have a 2014 1756.1 and looking at installing a stereo and wondering where to install the external speakers. Can anyone tell me exactly where Jayco installed speakers on other units as I don't wish to drill near a pillar/beam. If someone can give me dimensions from the centre of the speaker to the front/ rear and bottom of the black checker plate would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.

Don't rely on Jayco measurements... my factory speakers were about 5mm away from a steel pillar... Found out when enlarging the hole to put bigger speakers in (the magnadyne factory speakers have a very small cutout compared to aftermarket speakers).

From memory the leading edge of the rear speaker cut out, is the one that's right on the vertical pillar.

Can't remember if it was ali or steel... Try a magnet from internal and external surfaces maybe?

It's alloy so a magnet won't find it. I haven't tried yet as my "stud detector " is flat and I know where the beams are. But I suspect a stud detector on the inside may pick it up. You could also drill a small 3/16" hole on the inside panel and use a bent wire to push through the foam trying to find the alloy vertical upright.

Cheers for those measurements Ligedy. That will be good enough for me to try. Got the internal speakers and stereo fitted, just got the outside ones to go. Cheers again
