better for towing - greater distance between pivot point and axles
better for turning - greater distance between rear of vehicle and front of Van (@dagree )
better for reversing - greater distance between pivot point and axles makes it easier to control left and right in reverse
more room on the front for extras (as I can tow 3.5T I can have a max ball weight of 350kgs................ a tool box - a bike - whatever)
