Yeah, our inside ones has good bassy sound. The outside ones are the white Jayco type and dont have the bass of the inside, but sound not too bad...

That's what I am finding with the crappy white inside ones... The sound horrible and have no bass. The minute you put anything into it and a little volume the just start to distort. Is the fusion head deck okay with the new speakers, or is their minimal difference?

I think our head unit is a Pioneer, again the one Jayco fitted. if it isnt Pioneer it is a good brand, I just cant remember what it is. We run the TV through it as well if we are watching a movie and sounds really good. Also we hook up a bluetooth receiver so we can play music off the iphone and sit outside and we can control it from our seat :)

Is the bluetooth receiver via the USB or the 3.5mm Aux in, I tired a Bluetooth adapter that normally plugs into the apple 30pin docks, but this time via a apple charging lead & into the USB port, but that didn't work.

Totally agree, the speakers Jayco supply are crap. I had the externals installed and cables run with our order, and for me to install the head unit. $205 as an extra for a $15 retail speaker, hmmm.

But they did add the two speakers under the dinette table (although still crap) without being ordered, lol. I have replaced those and added two larger speakers in the back stowage compartment (added great base), all Polk Audio, and replaced the externals with Fusion Marine Speakers, wow what a difference,

If any one wants advise on changing the externals speakers, happy to give advise,

you can see pics under my panda link; http://www.expandasdownunder.com/threads/mastos-16-49-1b.3104/

Na, the unit is one from dickies, it plugs in to the aux plug on the front of the stereo and plugs in to 240 volt. I just search for the Bluetooth signal on my iphone and play the music. It is clear with no static... Now it is set up to hook up to my iphone automatically after i turn on the power to the unit... It was only $25...

I reckon it has a lot to do with the 'cabinets' they are in. The inside ones sound bassy because they are mounted in a big box that you can hear (in my case the dinette seats). The outside ones are not 'vented' to the outside so you don't get the effect of the box. Next time you're in the van, turn on only the outdoor speakers and stick your head in the seat/cupboard that has the outdoor speaker in it. I suspect it will sound Bassy.

I disconnected the inside ones as they were up the back??? I put a couple of small speakers on leads that fit into the overhead cupboard and place them on the table or on top of the cupboard when i use them, being as deaf as a post i can watch TV now without the whole park listening as well.
Cheers

Just a thought, The outside speakers are in a plastic cone of sorts. If you took that off and filled it with soft foam and put it back on that may give the same affect as the inside speakers. Hmmm, might have to find some foam and give it a try :)
