Electric hot water eBay cheepy

Has anyone had any experience with one of these?

They seem to range from around $50 - $100 so pretty cheap.

We have a gas hot water Joolca system for our outdoor shower and I could re plumb it in for tap water but for a overnighter we don't set the Joolca up (requires one quick release gas hose and then water) but I'm lazy so when the misses found this Ithought it might be an option? Needs 240 so not a free camp option and I could just boil the kettle for hot water but again when I'm out in the van I like to do as little as possible.

Should I bother or just put up with cold water for the dishes and stop being so soft?

Just had a look myself and yes they are cheap aren't they. If i could find an option just for dish washing and washing hands I would be happy.

Will keep an eye on this post to see if anyone offers any advice, until then it is boiling the kettle to do the dishes.

Hi doesnt say anything about australian compliance??? However nice idea.

Good idea, can't see if it has a 15 amp plug top on it which is what is required for a 3000W unit. Not sure how many vans have 15amp outlets installed especially under the sink. By the time you got a sparky to do that might be better value on something else.

And compliance could be an issue, you can check things on the ERAC website if you have some of the details or ask supplier for them whic is wise when you see a possible cheap import. https://equipment.erac.gov.au/Public/
Qld use an Australian Standard as the basis for this, NSW fair trading use their own Gazette, one day all the states will be the same and it will be easier to search for thing!.

Good point, there were quite a few different types for sale so it's something worth checking. Our van is not onsite so next time I'm near it I'll do some measurements and see how well one would fit and might just get one and try it out.
