Drinking water hose

Can anyone recommend a particular drinking water hose? Some time ago I bought the Aldi drinking water hose, I have only used it a few times and the last few occasions we have not been able to use the water for drinking, even after boiling as it tasted and smelt like rubber/plastic. The water straight from the caravan park tap was fine, so I blame the hose.

We've got one of those blue ones...bought on eBay in long piece so we could cut to sizes we wanted.

On the few occasions we've used it there was no noticeable rubber taste.

I just did an eBay search for caravan water hose but it was a lot less expensive than the one in the Jayco shop and looks the same. We added brass fittings so it would connect a bit easier.

I got a white one from BCF. We started out with the blue one (bunnings I think), and the water tasted like crap!! It was definitely the hose. Even raspberry cordial didn't disguise the taste. The white one now (with 2 blue stripes, i think) has no taste, so am a lot happier.

We went trough a few drinking water hoses. One was an RV flat roll up in a reel, it was terrible, tasted bad. The blue Bunnings ones are ok now we lace a white canvas on a reel and is great.

We use a white one with a couple of blue lines bought from Bunnings ages ago and it has had a lot of use with no drama's that I recall, but if any hose has been sitting around doing nothing, possibly with some water in it and getting warm it will make the water taste yuck. A normal garden hose which has water running thru it regularly and not sitting around cooking in the sun will taste okay also.
Like your water tanks, if you only use it for a couple of weeks a year give the tanks and hose a good flush before you use it............most pack up, hook up and drive home, wash van and thats it till next trip in 6 mths, tanks, hoses both grey and potable need to be flushed and dry before storing away.

I bought my drinking water hose from bunnings as well, no taste issues. I run water through it to flush it prior to hooking up to the caravan and also flush it and dry it prior to storing. You can use compressed air to dry it out.
Cheers

Was given a white one with blue stripes when van was picked up. Got another from The Big Green Shed (Also got shares in that place!!!!)... Cut the second one in half and fitted brass fittings for the odd occasion the tap is close to the connection point.

I just checked ours...its white, not blue as I thought! White, with blue stripe.

Ah....the memory is going faster than I recall.
