Hi all

Another newbie question I have heard that I might be wise to display a "DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICAL" sign on the back of my van. As this is my first van I am not sure. I have a 16.49.2 so 6.3m there and my tow vehical is a 2003 Pajero so another 4.9m there for a total of 11.2m.

I would love any feedback.

Do others have them?
Where do you get them from that are legal size?
Is there a set place you have to put them?

As just starting out I dont claim to be the best at towing a van as so far I have only towed it home.

Yep 7.5 mtrs and over, you can get them from most good van supply stores or truck supply stores. though I don't have one never really though about it to be honest, though van that size it isn't really an issue.

I've just found out about the requirement for vehicles/vans with a combined length of greater than 7.5 metres to have one of these signs. I'm surprised that it's not more widely publicised.

HI all,
I have one fitted on my 17ft journey so that I can legally straddle lanes to turn safely. $10 deliver is cheap peace of mind to avoid a fine. I know they aren't mandatory, but I have started to notice more of these signs on Caravans. There are also regulations on where they can be mounted. If you purchase one you need to make sure they are ADR compliant.

Each state still has their own rules, just get the 300x100 one with the writing on yellow background, must have the maker and reg written on it though, otherwise it musn't work properly, stick it LHS between 400mm and 2M from the road......................having driven over 2 idiots who came up the left hand side while I was turning I can tell you they don't work all that well, idiots don't read or see signs......they miss a flamin big truck with about 6 flashing yellow lights.
