Hi Folks
Been camping at least a few times a year for at least 20 years. Purchased a soft floor camper to make it easier at set up. Well that didn't work did it, took more work to set up the additional rooms than our original tent camping and still all the beds and stretchers and so forth to pack and carry.
Wifey and I were looking at the Jayco Swann OB but for a couple of extra bucks picked up a six month old Expanda 17.56-2, what a ripper, not an OB but I am sure I will get it where I need to go.. I am about ready to go grey nomad but kids are a little too young for me to retire and leave them. Have read lots of good stuff on this forum and even worked out how to put the awning up correctly, not like in the photo.
Will be doing lots of trips down here in Tassie and the air con will get a workout, in reverse as a heater no doubt as winter gets a little cold.
Hope to get across to the big island for a lap in the next few years.
Happy camping and cheers

Hi @David Cairns and welcome.
17.56.2 is a great choice. We also went looking at camper trailers/swan etc to upgrade from the tent and ended up nearly doubling our budget and drove away with a 16.49.3 and just recently upgraded that to the current 17.56.2 OB :)

Would love to get down to your part of the country but I'm a warm weather person 8-)

Welcome @David Cairns ahhh the natural progression, I need to make up a diagram like the evolution one but with Jayco' instead! Nice looking setup mate, would be a bit cold for me in an expanda down there....brrr :smow:

We are a crazy bunch down here. We always have a cold weather camp at Easter, when we camped with tents if your beanie falls off your head when you are in bed at night you instantly wake up from the cold. Dragon breath and all. Got to love it though. Big roaring fire, cold beer and happy memories. Too hot on the big island for us cold blooded Tazzie boys, you see us running around in singlets and shorts in the mainland winter.....
