I would imagine every one on this forum has heard of this park, just in case you southerners and westerners have not its located on the Maroochy river right at the heads with Maroochydore beach on the other side. I'm not sure how many sites there are, we are currently on a powered camping site but there are hundresd of sites. At present the park is roughly half full, it has 4 amenities blocks and 4 camp kitchens, free WiFi and is currently $40 per night, this park is council owned and the amenities are spotless.

Make sure u lock everything up, they are regurly hit by thieves. I had my mtb taken from right under our bed and a few other people lost stuff the same night. I have learnt my lesson now.

@White knuckles there were a couple of young coppers walking through, I had a chat to them, they said they were just making their presents felt, I said the more the merrier its not just here as we all know bustards!!

It's not uncommon for people to take a 3 or 4 week booking over Christmas and then organise a sublet to friends or family for part of it.

Hey @Greg Coolum is okay as well (lock everything up, I mean everything) it doesnt really matter where you stay up here it's all god's country, (there is no need to belittle yourself saying go the blues though, you win one series and as usual it goes to your head!!!)

QUOTE="Dean81, post: 106517, member: 2409"]We are booked at cotton tree over Easter. Is the theft that bad?
Lock up BBQ and bikes then?[/QUOTE]

I have only stayed there once which was a couple of weeks ago but I will be back that’s for sure. Walking around the park most people had all their stuff locked up once the sun went down.

I leave my Engel and Weber outside with a set of Lifetime blow mould table and chairs and I always make sure I run my S/S cable through them prior to going to bed.

I do this at all parks not just Cotton Tree.

Usually over ther the holiday period, the police patrol the park at night, along with the security guards they employ. We have known of bikes, kayaks and even thongs to have been stolen at night.
