Picked up a great value 2009 16.49-1 in perfect condition a few weeks back.

I was looking for a good 2009 model as this was the last year that Jayco put a decent table in the club lounge version (why they changed this design to the flawed folding table design i'll never know!)

Did the mandatory mods and went for a trial trip up to the yarra valley. Cant wait for the real trip in September!

Welcome Cookie. Great model you have there. We recently sold ours and had many enjoyable family trips in our 16.49.1. Good luck with it!

Welcome to the forum @Cookie and congrats of the van. We recently upgraded from a 2009 16.49.1 and love every one of the 200+ nights away we spent away in it. 2009 was a good year for the 16.49.1's for a few reasons, the table being one ...... but you have to get the Breha Industries table swivel which you can lock off with the wing nut clamp. The non lockable factory swivel is a pain, especially with kids knocking the table about ( and slightly dangerous with hot food and coffee etc)

Is that the satellite dish mounted under the front bed ..... great idea

ah yes the 2009 swivel leg it came with was terrible, and the first thing i did was drive down to jayco and buy the $32 older fixed s shape leg which we can tighten right up so that only adults can move it.

I still dont understand why jayco changed the design of something that worked for 20+ years. I see on the 2015 model the club lounge isnt even an option any more, and even the largest expandas dont have the same size lounge and table! /rant

Yes the mandatory mods done on the first weekend were to add storage... table at the back, satellite dish at the front. toolbox on the frame, mesh pockets inside and racks on the kitchen walls and in cabinet doors. all ideas inspired from expandasdownunder of course.

Hi @Cookie and welcome to the forum. I'm waiting on my 16.49.1 to arrive in November and we went for the dinette for two reasons. One you don't have to move the table to get into bed and secondly you have the cabinet for the TV and with storage underneath. I think the dinette is a little smaller than what have in the Hawk, just feels like a bit of a squeeze.
Is the Grand Cherokee diesel or petrol, either way I'm sure it doesn't know the Expanda is there. Great choice of vehicle.
