Coober Pedy

Passing thru Coober Pedy in a couple of weeks and have seen mixed reports on both Stuart Range and Oasis Caravan Parks.

Anyone been there recently?

My personal choice is Stuart Range, a little further from the Main Street but away from where the trouble sometimes occurs.

Make sure you have a pizza from John's pizza bar though, not Stuart range, heaps nicer.

If you want some sleep at night Stuart range just my experience there

If you need to top up with water there's a bowser across the road from the Shell Roadhouse on Huchinson St on a big piece of open ground. Water from elsewhere either scarce or not available and I believe all trucked in.

Yep Stuart Range we stay there each time we have passed through. There is a free camp north of there too off the highway where we have also stayed, by memory its less than 100km.

We pulled in there late one afternoon before heading into Coober Pedy the next day around 10am ( we were heading south from Alice) then saving a nights cp fee. That way your not spending you $$$ to head straight to bed

Can also free camp off the side of the road to oodnadatta, less than 10ks out of town on the banks of the dried up creek.

yup stuart range is the pick of the two. Super expensive in coober pedy!
