Have been contemplating getting Clearview Mirrors for the Prado for some time now but couldn't warrant the $'s for new and still a bit concerned about the Prado looking like "Dumbo".... And narrow parking bays at work.

Have been keeping an eye out on the Clearview website and fleabay for a second hand set but any out there go too quick! There is a seller on ebay from Victoria selling lookalike clearviews for $495 and have been tempted.

During a random search tonight I found these from Oztrail. $89.95 RRP for a pair.

Found a set on ebay for $69.00 a set so sending off an order after this message is sent. Previous mirrors were mounted the same and no issue with wind folding the mirrors in.

I started off with a set like that on the old Jeep , damn pain as the shape of the mirror on the Jeep was curved they didn't want to stay in position had to add some stuff to the mount to stop movement , problem was solved when the truck kissed the side of us, bought truckies after that.

If you have some time to play with, chuck a wanted ad up on Gumtree. Took 3 months but I got a set off an old guy upgrading to a Cruiser for $450. After a polish look new and means I won't worry about the occasional tree branch. They look wide, but only take 30 mins to fit if you wanted to take them off when not going away for a bit.

Tempted with the look alike/after market ones for $495 on ebay @benmat and not fussed with changing them over but it's the last minute getaways and lack of time to change over that worries me!

Did you get yours from Mandurah about a month or two ago? If so you just beat me to them ya bugga!

I have them on perminentally at the moment, so always ready to go! They do take some getting used to when not towing though.

Nah, I didn't swoop in on the ones in Mandurah. Got mine from North of the River 4/5 months back. Didn't even have to negotiate price.

Just checked out those eBay ones. They look pretty good. Don't remember seeing them when I was looking. Would be good to see a set in the flesh.

If the strap on ones don't make the grade I'll be looking at the ebay ones @benmat but like you I'd like to see a set in the flesh just to confirm the quality!

Keep your eye out on the clearveiw website, they have a secondhand section and can pick up mirrors at a good price.
I went through 3 sets of mirrors, wouldnt settle for anything less than clearveiws after using them

Have had my eye on the second hand clearview page for a few months @Moto Mech ... Even got it saved on my favourites toolbar to remind me to look 8-)

Unfortunately everytime I see a set for the Prado they are sold by the time I get to follow up on them >:(
Need new mirrors before the next trip so the strap on ones will have to do until I get a set of real ones!!!
