On my 4th Jayco and never really lost much at all!
Yes - there was meant to be a hint of sarcasm in my comment. FYI I'm driving a Chinese made Buick van while I live in Beijing. It has 7000km on it so far and it feels like it's done 500000km, uses 16L/100km, is very noisy - all the door seals are very poor so road noise is terrible. This is from a car made by a reputable brand, so not sure how these van's will be! On a positive note it hasn't yet given me any issues.

Gotcha!

16 to the 100, imagine the consumption if you hook up one of those chinese vans!:o
on another note: 18 to 20ft available in single or tandem axle, 18ft seems lengthy for a single?:(

@acmackie would that be a GL8 by any chance? And if so the new shape or the old shape? we have them in our factory in Shanghai, we change them over every 2 years and never have them serviced lol

@DRW yep it's the GL8. Unfortunately my company doesn't consider me important enough to get the new shape, so mine is the 2011 GL8 (Love how they call it the 2011 even though they still make them). From my understanding the "new shape" is actually a nice car (although I've not been in one to compare).
As comparison of fuel economy - my 3.0TDI V6 Audi Q7 used about 14-16L/100km with the 17.56-2OB behind. The GL8 only has the traffic to contend with and uses the same! Ahh 2 more years here.. then back to Aus. Can't wait to see what new features are on the Expanda's then!

@mfexpanda is right no one thought much of the Toyota Landcruiser being imported by Theiss in the late 1950s now look at Toyota, particularly the Landcruiser and to what it has evolved to, look at the way car manufacturing has gone, hope the caravan industry doesn't go the same way as the car manufacturing industry. Would be heart breaking to see Jaycos turning up on a boat instead of rolling out of Dandenong.
