I measured my empty ball weight (crudely with a bathroom scale) when I started to fit the tool box on the draw bar. I didn't do it straight from the dealer, but if I made some concessions it would be pretty close I suspect to the stamped weight. The stamped weight was (IMO) dangerously low ... I presume because we ditched the slideout lounge; lifting a substantial weight off the front on the van. The standard model with the slideout lounge had significantly heavier empty ball weight ... so in my case it appears Jayco must has actually weighed it to obtain the stamped weights

Id be interested to know where Jayco fit on that CCA list

Will probably get ours put over the weigh bridge, did it quickly when purchased and it was right on the limit for loaded but had water in tanks so looks like its time to empty van an quick trip to the weigh bridge. Will also be letting know about our wheel issue, have had new compliance plate issued for new rims and asked for ball weight to be increased, got 7 kilo's extra. Its about time somebody started to regulate the industry and keep check on whats happening.

Well it's about time but without name and shame nothing will happen, not that that should be reason to not do it.

I am tempted to get a tare on mine but thats a hell of a lot of work to get it to that state, dumping water, easy, pull out gas bottles, a bit harder, empty out the inside of van and boot, yikes...................hate to think what the gross is though.
