Just wondering if anyone knows of you can buy just the car end of the wdh? Ours was stolen this afternoon in cobram (in less than 10 mins). I think this is the only time we haven't taken it off (yes we forgot the lock). Anyway there goes our early start in the morning. We hope the caravan place will have one but would rather not have to buy the whole system.
Cheers Andrea

Hi Andrea, sorry to hear, can't trust anyone these days. I bought a longer shank for the WDH at ISP so maybe give them a call if there's one near you. Not sure about the part that takes the ball and cam lock washers etc though, hopefully they will have it all separate. Good luck.

We use to have it locked on the patrol but the bt50 is more than 6m with bullbat and hitch so it has to come off to go in the garage. We will use the lock always now. In fact just bought another lock which is a lot easier to get on and off than our old lock.

Hi all, having just done a bit of stuff with my local towbar guy, I got off him a pin where the end come off to take the hitch off and then locks on with a key - $25. He was telling me that he gets calls regularly to replace towing gear stolen of peoples tow-rigs.

We have a spare one of those now :)

Damn you pin!! Where were you when Andrea needed you most.
Andrea if this was me then I can guarantee both the towbar and pin would have been stolen because I am sure I would have taken the towbar off the car and made sure I replaced the pin so that I knew where to find it.

Apparently the reason we didn't have the locking pin on the car was because we took it over for a service the week before the trip and we had one like the picture and found it a pita to take on and off. Wasn't a problem on the patrol as it fit in the garage. We left for holidays after work and didnt 'think'. The new one is straight and alot easier to take on and off. At all the other places on our holidays the hitch was secured in the locked tool box...... Except cobram :(
