OK. I thought I'd kick off a new thread called Camping Stories. I'm sure everyone has at least one or two. They can be funny, interesting, informative etc. To get this started, I thought I would provide the first.....
Some years ago now, back in the days when I owned a 1998 Jayco Swift, we camped in a caravan park over Easter at Port Macquarie with friends who also owned a Jayco camper. One night my mate and I cooked dinner for both families, and after dinner, we gathered all of the knifes, forks, plates, etc to wash up at the campers kitchen. He was washing and I was drying and placing all of the stuff into our carry bags. After a few minutes, another guy walks in with his stuff to wash up. I looked at him and said "that we were almost finished, and that he didn't need to wait for very long".
Anyway, he started to tell me that he and his wife owned 52 Wombat (woman's clothing) stores around Australia, and that he and his wife were in court, paying a bunch of high fluting lawyers a bunch of money contesting against Time Warner for the naming rights to Harry Potter. The name Harry Potter in the Wombat clothing stores was being used as a new clothing line for woman's dresses etc. All this took place before all of the Harry Potter movies came out. He told me that he and his wife were fishing one time, when she thought of the name. Some months later, I remember reading somewhere that it was all settled for an undisclosed sum.
Anyway, I thought later well there you go, you met some pretty interesting people when you camp in a caravan park.
