My Panda already had 2 100w Solar Panels and a Roof Top Air Con. So after the chains had to be replaced with Aust Standard chain to get it licensed in WA (Jayco were not interested in that they had welded non Aust Standard chain on their vans), I....
a) Upgraded the back 2 gas struts, just so the lift was more manageable.
b) Added a 3rd 55l water tank toward the rear. We like to go Free Camping so wanted as much water as possible (55kg also assists to balance the load)
c) Rerouted the tank selector into inside the van - sick of having to get under the van to do this.
d) Inserted a one way valve into the water pipe to the water spout hand pump - now the water pump cuts out every time.
e) Inserted all the John Guest circlips which Jayco had not bothered to do for all the water fittings. (they weren't interested in hearing about this either)
f) Added another 100amp battery
g) Added a 3000w Inverter to run the Microwave. Great for Free Camping!
h) Put in a car radio/CD player above the Microwave and speakers either side of the fridge cabinet.
i) Put in a shower rail/curtain in the shower area (tired of having a wet toilet area) - it also strengthens the wall which has the door swung off it.
j) Added a Aluminium storage box and moved the gas cylinders into it ( having it vented in the bottom) and it has 2 drawers with top access.
k) Replaced the rear bumper with one which has the spare tyre and a removable bike rack on.
l) Relocated the external gas connector so that it is easier to connect the slide out BBQ.
m) Bought the Coast to Coast annex walls. (I store them in the rear storage as it assists to balance the load).
n) Replaced the brake magnets as the clips that hold the magnets off the drums, were not there.
o) Had the GPO relocated because it is unusable because it is hidden behind the cooktop lid when open.
p) Turned the hanging space fitting so that our clothes are all accessible sideways and not just the first one or two at the front. (Actually made up a new fitting with more holes)

Yes - I have had fun and now we enjoy our trips way in our panda.

just checked your other photos, nice work. i have a idea for the inverter that i have just finnished doing. below is how it works:

this is a copy and paste that i did last night.....it connects to some of the internal point and all the outside point.

the inverter i run has a remote control panel, the link is here for it

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PROJECTA...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43b64e8611

the inverter is hidden out of sight, the power wire running to the power points were cut and a changeover relay was inserted in its place, also with the output from the inverter going to the relay.

the relay has a 240 volt coil on it. the coil is connected to the caravan mains power circuit.

the normally open contacts are connected to the caravan power circuit.

the normally closed contacts are connected to the mains output of the inverter.

the common connections of the relay should be connected to the power sockets of the van.

the relay should be at least 15 amps 240 volt contacts, and must be double poll contacts, as you have to switch both nuetural and active wires.

when there is no power the relay has no power and the inverter runs through the relay and powers the power points.

when there is power the relay is powered and the inverter power is cut and the main power runs through the relay to the power points.

simple design and works seamlessly. you can have the inverter on all the time, and if power is cut, you would not even know it.

a relay and base on ebay would be on this link

Yep - Maybe because I am old, but to get my hand up underneath the van, and onto the tank selector, I used to have to lay down. So decided to divert the pipework inside - also found out why sometimes the pump would not cut out!

Here are pics of the rear bumper bar. Had it powder coated after my son welded it up.
It has a removable bike rack & the fold down spare carrier IMG_0589.JPG .2014-03-05-789.jpg

Have put in 2 extra drawers in my 16.49.3
a) one to replace the Soap tray - purchased a standard drawer from Bunnings - had to cut down the side as the edge of the sink is in the way!2014-03-10-799.jpg
b) one behind the bottom drop down front - had to make it narrower as the wheel arch is there. Made it out of sheet metal & great for storing pots and frypan. 2014-03-10-800.jpg

Just returned from a few days 'free' camping and really appreciated the rerouting of the water tank taps into the van. It was raining and the ground was very wet - just opened the door under the wardrobe and hey presto was able to change the tank over.

Impressive list of mods there Glen I too went and put the circlips on all the John Guest fittings when i modded my piping to the pump they had plumbed mine so that no cold water could get to the tempering valve from the pump so when not on mains the valve would shut and I'd get no hot water took a while to work out what the problem was also swapped the non return on the hand pump to a brass one works great now

Have sold my 16.49.3 and am now considering either a 16.59.3 or a Coromal 542S. The layouts are the same, but wife likes the Coromal finish, while I'm still interested in the Starcraft Outback.... I think the Coromal may come in cheaper now that they are manufactured here in WA...

I have actually made a false floor in the front tunnel - it stores the annex poles etc half the floor is hinged by the felt I glued to the wood. Makes the poles easy to get to, and stops them getting caught on the chairs I also put into the tunnel. Got that idea off this forum.

I think I remember seeing that idea, I want to have a slide out kitchen of sorts, with the Webber and 2 burner stove tied down. So once you rock up to site you slide out, choose your poison, plug it in and cook!
sort of like this "ROUGH" drawing

Note: This has been done before on the forum, so its not a new idea

My original box design was that. Then I got nervous about cooking to close to the canvas so I made the slide a draw, and tbh its perfect. Besides the weber I hold camp oven, floor mat, sun screens and a few bits and pieces. I hold the weber in with a flat HQ hockey strap and it takes seconds to get out
