Hi All just wondering how many of you have had trouble with the surface of you hard lid our 16-49.4,s front hard lid has over a dozen blisters in it. The surface is still solid as a rock it appears as though the fibre glass has got moisture or air pockets and once it's got hot the material is blistering. I originally thought it may have been the gel coat but I’m certain that’s not the case. Once I've added the photo's you will be able to see what I mean by blisters. I have spoken Page bros about the issue and have sent off to Jayco for a warranty claim I’ve been told should not be a problem as this is not the first one they’ve seen/heard about.

Unfortunately this seems a common problem.

Both of our hard lids were replaced after we noticed the bubbles after just 4 months of ownership.

It is a manufacturing issue due to moisture getting into the fibreglass mix. Eventually it will rot through. It won't stop you using the van until Jayco replace the lids.

No issues with Jayco replacing them and we now keep a good lookout for any new ones.

Thats good to hear that you didn't have any trouble with Jayco over this matter. I agree that it wont stop me using it I'm a panel by trade, it just looks very unsightly thats all.

Yes rojoberry our van has developed the bubbles too. A few warranty items are scheduled in to be fixed of which Jayco is gratefully going to rectify
