Brisbane to Camerons Corner

Hi All

Trip planning for a run in the June/July school holidays out to Cameron's Corner. Any tips on places to stay or things to see between Brisbane and the corner?

Rough plan so far is catch up with some friends just north of St George => Bollon => Cunnamulla or Thargomindah => Noccundra => Dig Tree => Innamincka => Strzlecki Track to the corner => Thargomindah => Quilpie => Charleville => Brisbane

Only have the 2 weeks school holidays so can't stray too far afield. Might do a farm stay along the way at somewhere like Charolotte Plains near Cunnamulla. Happy to hear any tips/advice/recommendations.

I know it will be cold and even have authorisation to install a diesel heater. Will have to reread some install threads.

Thanks

Cameron

Sounds like a great trip. Charleville is a great place so many things to do. The cosmos centre was great for the whole family. Our 2 year old still talks about seeing the moon and Saturns rings.

Lots of info on Cameron Corner from our meet in 2014.

We went from the Gold Coast 1st stop outside Dalby at Lake Broadwater where we met up with @DRW then out through Noccundra with a short stop at the pub then bush camped about 20 km south west on the direct road to CC. All dirt but no problem with the van (except for a flat from a bent tent peg some clown threw away). Other member did the trip similar to your route and their reports will give a bit more info. Enjoy the trip.

The trip as you have outlined it to the corner is the way we did it with a camper trailer around 10 years ago. The only difference is we left CC and went to Tibuburra in NSW then across to Wandaring and up to Hungerford. It's a great run and we did it in the two weeks of school holidays but in September. The winds at the Dig Tree and Innnaminka were pretty fierce but we stayed the town common and swam in the river so it can't have been too bad. :D Have a good trip.
