so, after nearly 3 years of the Diesel gas injection on my beastie playing up
and about 12 months of it leaking every time I turn the sodding thing on

it has finally gone in to get fixed...............

the problem all along, has been that it was a D-Gas system, not a Diesel Gas system
so trying to find someone to look at it, and give me an objective answer - (not sod off its stuffed) - has taken awhile
I was trying to get hold of Diesel Gas Australia - and there is only about 3 people left in WA who touch them anymore.

when I finally found someone, and he had a look - he said it was crap, as it was D-Gas, not Diesel Gas
he could fix it - $800 to rip it out or another $2500 and he could fit their system......

1 frantic phone call to my mate the Legendary Mike (XLR8 Fabrications) later........

he found someone who can, does, and WILL look at my D-Gas system, and let me know if it was worth salvaging it....

well, low and behold-------- not a biggy on where its leaking, and can fix and tune the gas for me - approx. $800.00

so she is now finally in getting the Gas sorted out
hopefully get her back tomorrow, ready to rock n roll............

just thought I would pass on my excitement

I have D-gas fitted to my Navara and have had problems all along with it leaking coolant through the plastic heat exchanger cracking where the hoses connect to it. I have had it replaced 3 times and when it dropped it's bundle while travelling around WA I decided to call on D-gas who were based in Perth. Turns out they had gone belly up the year before but somebody put me on to an auto gas place on the north side of Perth. The guy said he had helped them design and develop the heat exchanger and he thought h still had a prototype around somewhere. He found it and said I was welcome to come and get it. Turns out it was all brass fittings but considerably longer than the plastic one so I waited until I got home then pulled it apart and cleaned it, modified the existing pipe work to fit and have not had a problem since. The plastic piece was badly designed allowing the heater pipes to lever the tails the were connected to and eventually crack them, but the brass is solid.

apparently, where its leaking from is the control module itself.....(silver box shaped thingy)
but they will replace the heat exchangers as well......

time will tell if Joondalup 4x4 have fixed the problem.....

well now....................
after a fantastic drive down our wonderful Mitchell Freeway, then onto our Lovely Reid Hwy, then onto the great Roe Hwy
I can give my report................

where to start.......... ummmmmmmmmm
un FREAKING believable................

5th gear - 60km hour pulled to 110Km as smooth as silk, and very very quickly

the old gas system was a "pulse" and only kicked in after 1100rpm
the NEW gas system is Vapour, and kicks in at 5lb boost- DAYAM
feels soo good and sounds sooo purdy..........

all I can say is
Joondalup 4x4 did a great job
had a service while it was there........... you know - oil & filters......
but, as part of their service,
they even changed the fuel filter (and they ONLY use Ryco - no other crappy cheap ones) and Air filter
also, fixed 1 headlight as it was intermittent
replaced a rubber mount for the exhaust as it was broken
checked ALL my brakes
checked the oils in the gearbox / transfer / front & rear diff's

and
AND
used Turtle wax to clean the guards and bonnet incase they had got them dirty...........

I will recommend them for sure...........

oh, did I tell you they fixed the Gas.........
FREAKING unbelievable................
