Best route from Bathurst to Forbes...

Heading from Wollongong to Forbes next weekend, wondering what the best road is out that way and anything in particular to avoid.

Haven't done it for some time but google suggests via the Hume/Lachlan for The Gong to Forbes stretch, I wasn't towing when I did it as far as Cowra but from memory the road was pretty good

Yeah funny i would have thought it would have been much quicker going over the mountains.

Its pretty much the same time wise either way but less traffic via the Hume and Lachlan Valley Way. Yass to Cowra is a reasonable road a bit narrow in parts but not really an issue. Grain trucks could be a hazard this time of year.

Got here safe and sound early afternoon. Lachlan Valley way is a great piece of road....really enjoyed it and its in good condition.

The most dangerous part of the trip was the hume...so many cars today...lots of nuff nuffs....and then yass maccas was getting pole axed...

Otherwise was a fun tug!

Now just have to work out how i get to wodonga from here.....im expecting west wyalong naranderra etc...
