Hey Guys - We are comeing down for the monster jam trucks on 19 October at ANZ stadium and we need to stay some where with the van. Can anyone tell us the nearest van park/ camping place in Sydney ?? Thanks Guys

To clarify, Tim posted something the other day i was not aware of. We are thinking Lane Cove, but public transport options are about an hour. Is there a better park that will give 1/2 hour access to the stadium.

If not, what is parking like if we were to drive to the venue, or is that not an option?

Trish

If you pre buy your parking ticket from ticketek its easy. You could stay at avan park in the wild west at penrith. Then Drive down m4 turn off into hill road and yor pretty much there at the parking. Leaving is just as easy. I always drive there but i always buy a parking space when i book tickets. The only caravan park i know of is at emu plains, dont know what it is like though

We used to stay at Parklea (near Blacktown) but they have turned it into a lifestyle village for over 50s although they still had a few sites available late last year. We found another out at Schofields but this would require a drive to say, Blacktown, and train to ANZ, all a bit more than half an hour travel. I think Lane Cove CP, with the suggestion from @fishinglizard for parking, is your best bet.

By the way, don't think that your excuse of your 3 year old wanting to go see the 'big trucks' is the real reason for travelling to Sydney, Tim. Who is the biggest kid? :pound:

@chartrock, funny he was the initial reason for me looking as I wanted to take him to the monster trucks in Brisbane. But when I saw this series was in town, we had to go. The yanks do monster trucks so much better than we do.

So he was the initial reason, but lets face it we also want to go. Why else's would we drive 2000 Kim's in 5 days. Think it will be a great night.

Yep, I'd say so too, It's any easy drive to Stadium from there, but if you do need public transport as you say it will be diffrent otherwise as said you maybe out west, Or there's a park in Camden with bus at the door to Campbelltown Station with a fairly directed train ride but you do need to change trains, It's also reasonable drive.

We have stayed at the Lane Cove CP, we were very impressed & would have never known we were in the middle of sydney.
The train station is a 10-15 min walk mostly flat ground, we caught the train into town but in saying that we drove to the stadium.

Thanks All, we did not know we could book a parking spot. We have scoped it out and get a park close to our seats. So we will go with the pre paid parking option. Far less hasstle if the kids nod off while watching it.

Thanks for all the feedback.
