I ha e a 2008 16.49.1B and has the folding arms on the side of the bed frame to hld up the canvas. I am finding that the rivets are starting to snap off and it is a pain of a spot to get the pop rivetdr into.
Has anyone had this issue and are there any have clever aays of getting around it. I am thinking about bodging up my own verion of the hocky stick. If anyone can post some pictures of how it clips onto the hoop and I to the cabinet I'd really appreciate it.

That's a decent thought but it has to go halfway up the upright arm of the hoop. I can't think of a way to get the bolt up the inside of the tube.

They didn't have the hockey stick on the 2008 it was a hinged brace that goes from the floor to the end hoop. I will see if I can take a photo tomorrow.

I think that it was a short lived experiment. It looks like 2008 and 2009 only.

I had the same problem with my 2009 14.44.2

Firstly i went to the local jayco and inspected their van to get an appreciation of the 'hockey stick' set up. Took some photos and then purchased 'the kit'.

I drilled and un screwed the hinges and then wacked the new kit on.

Wasnt too difficult :) sorry i cant remember the $$$$ BUT it wasnt excessive !!

@Cootay I found a couple mate!

Positives
1. Doesnt damage the fly screen on pack up! Wear and tear.
2. I can now hang a light fan combo on the stick

Negative
1. It takes some height of the top which can b a little annoying when the other half needs to climb over to get too the loo or too climb on!!!!!! 8-) But only VERY small negative

In a nutshell i had to replace / repair mine and i found this was the most practical solution!

I figured Jayco changed back to the stick for a reason, which couldve been purely $$$$$ orientated but for me it minimised the wear and tear on the fly screen on pack up!

Same thing on our 09 16' that we had. I drilled out the bar and bracket and made a sleeve to go through both, then a small bolt through with washers and nut. I had to undo the canvas at bottom of bed to drill through.....just a bad design!
