We have a Jayco Expanda 2007 (model 16.49-1) with the old-style flys over the bed-ends. The flys work a treat but are a bit of a chore to set up, requiring poles, guy-ropes and pegs to keep them in place. This is OK when parked on grass but when parked on a drive-thru concrete slab there is nowhere for the front centre pole to be guyed down and it tends to drop out with the slightest gust of wind.

So I designed a holder which slips over the tow ball adjustment bolt and allows the pole to be self-fixed in one position, resistant to wind gusts and without requiring any guy-roping. I printed the holder in ABS plastic on my 3D printer (it takes about 3 hours to print).

If you are a technical person, the full description including STL download and (customisable) CAD file can be found at

This is great! We have a older Expanda also and so have run into difficulties setting up the end flies.
