Rightio good people, Looks like we're taking a trip to the big smoke next week, down to the bay. Google shows two Big4's though.... so, which one? Keeping in mind our priorities are kids/playground/pool etc.. Any suggestions?

Also anyone in the area should feel free to let me know if you're keen for a meet and greet. Always up for a beer and a yarn ;)

G'day Blacky, we stayed at the Bay Beach Big 4 and found it to be really good. Right on the beach. Kids loved it. A little way though from the main part of town. Never stayed at the other (East's Beach), it is closer to the main part of town, but also closer to the main highway, so may get a bit of Truck noise, as it is close to the main traffic bridge.

G'day Blacky,

I have a couple of options in the way of caravan parks in the Batemans Bay area. Probably the better of these is the Big 4 in Broulee which is a few minutes out of town but it is right on the beach and the facilities for kids are very good.

Lastly, I guess you'll be travelling from Parkes, which means that you'll be having to go down the Clyde Mountain to get to Batemans Bay, I need to tell you that the Clyde Mountain road is probably the steepest bit of road I've ever travelled on and it will test your brakes on the van. I've done it many times towing different vans over several years. But, if you drop it down a few gears, and go easy, you should be fine. Just make sure that your brakes on the van are good to go. I'm thinking that its better for me to tell you prior, so your aware. Anyway, enjoy your travels and I hope this helps.

All pretty good parks expect Shady Willows.

We always stay at Easts Riverside in January smallish park well run theres a big park next door for kids to run amuck.
Pleasurelea is OK onsite resturant/bar but crap TV reception.
South Durras is pretty good also, roo's etc setting up camp under ya awning.
Sus out Beachcomber at Potato Point as well.

We stay at the Big 4 Batemans bay Beach resort at Batehaven, only a 10 minute bike ride in the town, on the beach and has a lot for kids to do. The pool is a little small but still a very nice park. This will be our 5th year to go...
