Attaching box to draw bar

Does anyone know if it's safe/OK to drill into draw bar to mount a storage box?? May be a silly question - I just want to be sure....

I wouldn't I would try and attach it by using brackets that clamp or bolt on

Are the gas bottle mounts there, you may be able to use them.

i used U-bolts.....works great and no holes in the drawbar...

I used the gas bottle mounts no probs.

You can drill into the side of the rhs no problem but best not to drill into the top face.
Why not weld it on like I did.

don't forget to add rubber between tool box and A frame if using u clamps.

The problem with drilling into the drawbar would be the possibility of rust starting where you make a hole in the Galvanising, U-bolts would be a better option

Hi Cancan, your suggestion to add rubber between tool box and aframe? Is that for some structural reasons or jut to stop vibration or something.. Sorry if it's a stupid question.

for vibration ....my box trailer didn't have any rubber between tool box and a frame and there rust between the two where as camper trailer has rubber and that has no issues.
