Building a set of rock tamers and just wondering if the rubber flaps are wide enough? Looking at the originals, they are quite abit wider than mine.
I can add a section in(angled bit) that would make them about 100mm wider each side.
So, what do you think?

i built a set similar to this a while ago and although i thought the exhaust was far enough away it still ended up melting a hole through the flap, im sure you have it covered but i thought i would mention it!
Cheers

Looks good Moto Mech. The only thing i think of with these style of flaps is how close they are actually to the ground. I would be concerned about the flaps actually flicking the rocks up as they are that close? Not sure if they do or not just a concern.

Having had a bad experience with some very sharp quartz stones I would say don't rely on these solely. I would still up grade the tugs flaps and still have a stone guard like Cruza made. I then have two rows of rubber flaps under the van because the bloody rock keep on bouncing especially at speed (yes I should have slowed down)

Yep, your right, they must not contact the ground. Once the van is hooked on I will do a final trim and allow about 50mm clearance from the road.

The tow vehicle already has longer heavier duty style flaps but I think I may also add another flap under the front of the van.
