Hi Folks

Please let me introduce myself - first time poster - short term reader - since my wife found the site after scrolling the net for info on Expandas.

Such a great site with loads of info that really assisted and influenced our final purchasing decision. We have gone for the 17.56.1 OB due in Nov.

It will be a major upgrade from our existing 2008 Jayco Hawk - which has now found a new home.

The various viewpoints from experience, have been so very helpful along with the tips, tricks, mods. and have helped us to choose a van that will suite our situation.

With my wife and a couple of young kids we look forward to exploring more of the West coast between Esperance and Exmouth.

The other aspect worth mentioning - is that after a solid month of reading I felt comfortable enough to join what seems to be a very friendly and helpful group of posters.

So thanks for all the info - hopefully my posts will make some sense and share a perspective or experience that will be of value to others.

Cheers Sid

Welcome Sid. Waiting teaches you patience! It'll be worth it as we can all attest. Nicest thing about this forum is that everyone is friendly and speak from positive Jayco experiences, especially with Expandas.

Welcome Sid and co. I can imagine a month of reading because there is a wealth of information here and lots of friendly people willing to share. Look forward to seeing some pix of your van when you get it and your trips around the west coast, a beautiful part of this great country.

welcome guys, there is a wealth of knowledge and helpful members, as I am sure you already know. My tip, you may have already done this, is to check through some of the options that members recommend, there are some here that i would never have thought of when we placed the order for our van, sort out your wish list, and talk to the dealer. They will have a date when nothing can be changed, so get in early.
Enjoy the wait :frusty:, it's the tough bit, we think about ours every day!

Cheers for the welcome - and yes will get some pics up of the rig once it arrives - have already started counting the days !! H_m - thanks for your tip and yes i pilfered the site and all recommendations by other owners, which majorly added to the list we had made. So thanks cause you all probably cost me another couple of K  We have been back to the dealers to sign off on plans on Friday and added a few more extras. See our "tactic" here was that once the initial shock of purchasing the van had worn off - it was much easier for us to "only spend" another grand or two !!! Tricked ourselves nicely - but very happy with our choices.

When we bought our Hawk back in 2008, we avoided adding extras - unable to justify the extra spend, then each time we were away we would think ..... "should have added this/that". Like you said whats a few extra dollars, besides the mortgage was getting way to low!!!

You can never have too many extras. When we have gone with friends and they see something on the van and say "That's a good idea" My reply is usually "Yep, that's an extra!"
