Hi all,

We ordered our OB yesterday. Currently have a trackabout and were going to a swan. Hired a swan late last year and it was great but we decided in the end to skip to the expanda. We have 3 girls 11 9 & 8 and enjoy some free camping. The expanda offers those little extras for the girls. Our tug is a landrover D3 tdv6. Delivery is late August and it's probably easier to list what options we didn't get! Thanks to a couple of members on this site who provided some advice along the way.

Only option I think we missed was the solar although it will be wired for it. Already have some panels for the trackabout.

Now the wait which will guve us some time to sell the trackabout and some work to the driveway.

Happy days

Sounds great, another 17 OB!
I've got work to do on my driveway as well.

Maybe we should start a thread to see how many are waiting for 17's, there seems like quite a few at the moment :)

C'mon, list the extras, let us know what you are getting...

Thx everyone. Ok extras as follows.....

16" wheels
Extended drawbar
External shower
2 x gas bayonets
Light over ext shower
Extra 12v plug on outside
TV plug on outside
Aux battery (single)
Solar wiring
Picnic table
Simplicity suspension
RV control panel
Shelves to robe
7 pin plug and Anderson plug
Table top same as benches (I think?)

Driveway is flat, just a tight fit length and width wise and needs to go in drawbar first via a winch. Will be interesting!

I have used winches over the years for various trailers on our driveway. I have an electric boat winch that has its removeable plate bolted to the ground. good luck with it. make sure you post some pics when its ready.

Hi smwilk
For your info:
Here is a winch similar to the one I have
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/up-23ft-...AU_Boat_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6d4f7aa3
If I recall correctly mine was from ALDI ?! I'm sure it was pretty cheap too.

A bit more info on how I used it:
I simply put a dyno bolt into the concrete at the end of the driveway and hooked the winch on to it via the tow ball bracket. Connected the other end to the trailer and happy days.
If I recall, I powered the winch via a spare car battery that I had in the garage, obviously charging it regularly.

Hope that helps a little

Great to see another 17.56.2 on the way. i would have to say they are certainly popular and I love ours, going from a trailer to the expanda is a great move. we did our first weekend away and even had time to stop for a coffee half way through packing up.
Ah the pure luxury of it all.

Well we finally picked it up last Saturday. Very happy and was able to winch it in first time spot on! Now a fortnight until I can get away. Only disappointment was the non figment of 2nd bayonet. Pics to follow... Ps brakes don't feel too powerful?

smwilk,

Picked up our 17.56-2 OB yesterday and it has both front and rear gas bayonets fitted as ordered. What reason were you given for not having the second one fitted?

A number of buyers were contacted by dealers to advise jayco would not fit 2nd bayonet due to new gas regulations.

There are some threads on this site somewhere

Don't understand the Gas Bayonet problem - The Jayco Factory fitted two for us.

You will love the 17.56-2 with your family; we love ours!

So wierd. Mine only has one too. Jayco swore black and blue (via the dealer) that they would no longer fit them. I must have caught them on a bad day...

Funny thing is, no one can find this "Regulation". I even contacted our dealer on this, making inquiries as to whether our van with two bayonets was now legal? Ours OK as already fitted with a gas certificate. I wonder if we did some gas work, such as fitting a gas heater that required a new gas certificate if we could have a certificate issued with the two bayonets. Again I asked for the SPECIFIC REGULATION THAT BANNED THIS! Can not produce it!
