Help??
Just purchased a new jayco van and was told by the dealer that i would require a anderson plug to run the fridge
Previously we had an expanda that was connected via a 12 pin plug and had the car wired for that with brake controller and i dont know what its called so that the battery wouldnt go flat when stopped
Question is what do i have to remove or replace for an anderson plug now??
The van fridge is a 164ltr
Any help appreciated

I'd go to the auto electrician and talk to him.

You have the 12pin wired for brake controller, and with isolator to protect battery when car is turned off and the Jayco standard issue is a 12pin which should match up with your setup. Jayco fridge wiring is usually via 12pin.

Is there ESC on the new van?......more wiring needed and can be done via 12pin

Or the alternative is to get the car redone with Anderson and 7 pin ( check that's what is on the van) but that's also an auto leckie visit. Should only require plug changes, as wiring is already done.

Or get the dealer to organise it. They have tame auto leckies.

Just depends on how much needs to be changed, and your preferences, as to which way to go.

Good luck!

In actual fact I wouldn't worry about setting things up for the fridge to run on 12v, you can only run it while the tug is running and it only tries to hold the fridge at temp it won't bring the fridge down to temp, at least not for about a week, if your going to be doing 10 hr days on the road then yes but otherwise it's not really important. I would regularly travel with it not running and now Big Mal has a 12v problem which I haven't sorted yet but with the fridge nice and cold when we move the temp drop is about the same as opening the door once or twice.
Save your money and see how things go....but give the 12 pin a miss and go anderson if you think you need it, less hassle on the road.
