Was just wondering if anyone has fitted after Arles rims to their Expanda. I was thinking of fitting steel rims was wondering if anyone has done this....

Cheers

Thanks Cracka, the difference in weight between alloy and steel is minimal. Obviously alloy looks the part but steel is stronger im now using steel as the spare waiting for another alloy to let go then keep the steel rims on the van as they are stronger and hold up to the conditions we put our van through ..

Thanks guys...that's exactly what I after something a little stronger. The standard Jayco rims just don't seem to be all that strong. My main concern is when driving with lower pressures and hitting something a speed. They just dont look like they would stand up to much.

Plus I reckon black steel rims would look pretty cool!

That's just it though, once you drop the ball pressures you shouldn't be going much faster.

The point being its still quite safe to drive at around 60 or 70 on a some roads. And still possible to hit something at "speed" that could damage an alloy rim. I'm planning on being on the road for a lengthy period and hoping to not carry 2 spares.

Yes I'm sure there are people who " have been to the cape" and not experienced damage. This s about minimising chance somewhat.
