Hi all, looking to find a cheap caravan park in cairns for us to staagin for a couple of nights before we head up the cape. For those nights we will not be looking for a resort, that may be for the way home.

Advice on cheapest caravan park in Cairns

Not a cheap option, but Cairns Coconut resort is a top spot. Lots of activitys for the kids (if applicable) otherwise just a really nice, clean leafy invoroment.
We stayed there in 2011 on our way to the cape. Liked it so much we stayed there again on the way home. There is also City Caravan Tourist Park, they are cheap. But we stayed there in 09 and would never go back. There were a lot of perminant reserdants and the place was not very tidy. Left a lasting impression that is for sure.
The place may have changed, as it has been 4 years. Just my 2 cents, based on personal experance. Have a great trip, i would go the the cape every year if i could, it is gods country up their.

cairns crystal cascades is very good , dont stay at cheap ones in cairns they are dirty with lots of permanents do yourself a favour and stay at a decent one also agree with above coconut grove is good but does get a lot of traffic noise where crystal cascades is very quite and about 10km by car from the city
We also stayed in Crystal Cascades in Cairns back in 2010 on our big trip.

If you are looking for somewhere to leave you van, how about a storage place? Might get good rates for a few days or so...
But when you are staying in Cairns I will give another vote for the Cairns Coconut BIG4. If you kids are old enough to look after themselves you won't see them.. Great for the family!
