Hi, I have been following the forum for several months since I stumbled on it and have found the forum to be a wealth of information. Although we have a Sterling I have found many items are exactly the same as an Expanda. We have a April 2011 – Sterling 21.65-3 Outback with factory solar. We have made a number of small modifications and improvements. I found it was a little too heavy for the Pajero and upgraded to a 200 series diesel Cruiser 12 months ago. So far we have only been on a number of small trips apart from a great trip down the coast from Sydney to the Great Ocean Road and back up thru Ballarat and Bendigo. Then we had to backtrack up the coast to get home due to the flooding earlier in the year. We are looking forward to many more trips and possibly meeting up with other forum members in this great country of ours.
Paul & Heather.

Hi Paul & Heather, welcome guys! Your van sounds nice, my wife liked the big sterlings but no where to keep at our place. I guess you were getting on your limit with the Paj, was it 3T towing rated?

Cheers
Burnsy.

Thanks Burnsey,
Yes the Pajero was a 2010 Exceed 3.2 Diesel (DP chipped, chip is for sale) and rated at 3tonne. While the Paj was capable of pulling the Sterling I found it struggled on hills. For instance 2nd gear to get up the Hawksbury and Moonee Moonee hills. There was also a couple of times when there was a slight sway which was very concerning. The cruiser is much more stable and pulls the van easily. The van has a tare mass of 2220kg.
Cheers Paul.

Welcome Paul and Heather. We definately need to have a NSW meet soon. Maybe something central around Newcastle? What do you think Burnsy?
