I've bought a second water pump:
http://www.escapinoutdoors.com.au/1...-17-lmin-40-psi-free-post-model-fl40-p-4.html

and a filter and filter tap:
http://caravansplus.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5653

I plan to isolate my 3rd tank and have it set up as a separate 'drinking water only' tank. I will use the second pump, new filter and tap for this tank only, mounting the tap on the sink.
I will insert a series of valves under the van so that I can direct the 3 tanks to either pump. The plan is to fill tank 1 with pristine drinking water only, tank 2 with pristine water as is practical, and tank 3 could have dodgy water, river water etc if needed. Tank 1 will never be 'contaminated'

BUT, I have a question for the more electrically minded.
The new (2nd) pump draws around 9.2 amps on startup. So, it will need to be on a circuit that can handle it. I'm a bit stumped on how to do this. It would be easy to hook it up with the existing pump but then the fuse would blow if both were used at the same time. Any ideas?

I'm no expert either mate but obviously you need another fuse from where you take your power from. I put a fuse box in the battery compartment that holds about 4 spade fuses.

Hi Relgate,

I did the exact same as you, will try and explain how I did it.

The power feed to the factory pump I disconnected and ran it to a new 30amp relay then ran a new heavy duty positive/negative wire from the battery (fused) to the relay, the new pump positive also goes to the new relay and the negatives together with one also going the relay.

So when you switch on the pump at the wall like normal the power switches the relay over to allow the new heavy duty power feed to run direct to the two pumps.

Hope that makes sense, I also put an inline switch on the factory pump as sometimes caravan/national parks have mains water to the van but not good enough to drink, this way only the drinking pump will work off the drinking tank.

I have also done the exact same again in our Crusader.

We have the same tap, due to the 1/4" pipe and filter, you don't get great flow, fine for filling a drinking cup, slow for filling a kettle. We all love it though.
So if the pump you purchased is better than the one in the van, maybe do a swap and use the old van one for drinking water.

You could just run a separate line from a spare fuse area from the back on your SETEC unit as there are likely a few spare. It is as simple as pulling the unit out, mine is beneath the fridge and then running wire +ve and -ve from that to an on and off switch (if you want one inline) and then to the pump. I put the on off switch not far from the tap.

I like that idea but there doesn't seem to be any spare lines. On the front panel there are fuses in all the spaces. I assume that means they are all being used?

No they are not likely all full. Mine had fuses in all slots but 4 had nothing going into them. Disconnect power from your van and isolate your battery then take off the SETEC cover and undo all the screws (there is one in the middle also) and then slide/wiggle out the unit. Depending where your unit is located I fed the wire to the unit by opening up the fridge vent on the outside and then also ran it inside the van around to the switch (I installed) near the tap. I have a 2014 14.44 with bunks so the fridge and SETEC Is opposite the sink. Routing was as easy as following other cables.
