We are off to Yamba for the weekend for 4 days. we have just decided to add another 5 to the front of it, so we will be somewhere else down Northern NSW as well.
I've heard a bit about Yamba - everyone keeps telling me to go there! I just noticed that you are also in North Lakes @TTBRIDGE - might have to pick your brain for good weekend getaway spots
No van.... so will be enjoying the long weekend reading about members trips....
Would be interested in Mudjimba down the track, you thought it was pretty good eh.. How where the Sandflies, did they try and carry you guys away, or not to bad?
Hi @Flossymk1 Your post here caused me to look at the calendar a bit closer and I found I'm RDO Friday the 22nd, then the weekend with the holiday Tuesday. Seen my manager early and secured the Monday off. I know Mudjimba park counts the Australia Day weekend as school holidays and as such canine travellers aren't allowed. Called the good people at Golden Beach and secured the last site they had. It's only 30 minutes to Mudjimba from there so we go up fairly regularly. There's nothing better than Mudjimba beach for walking end to end, throwing the ball for the dog, watching her play in the water, it ticks all the boxes. Best we don't tell anyone else about it.
Dough!!
Might see you up that way.

Some suggestions for short breaks around Brisbane:
Bjelke Peterson dam ( yallakool?)
Kilkivan bush camping
Boreen point
Noosa northshore beachfront
Elanda point
Some of the bush camps around Catharaba are not suitable for kids...full of long stays with lots of booze and other questionable intakes
We love northshore...essentially bush camping and right on beautiful beach...but best ignored on long weekends as the fishing clubs also love it so can get a bit crowded and noisy...but magnificent during the week.
Kilkivan is quiet and relaxing with enough to interest kids but no jumping castles and the like.
If you want to venture into NSW.....sometimes it's necessary just to realise why we live in Qld....there are some lovely places around Iluka Yamba etc which are worth trying.
