Hi there Expanda type folk.
New bloke here.
We're deciding between different 2nd hand Expanda's to buy, both are 17,56-2 OB with the HL.
Anyway, I came across something rather unusual that I've not seen on a Jayco and thought I'd ask some folk with more experience than me.
It is a 2013 model, and has Underslung Simplicity suspension as per the original order documents from the dealer.
What I see when crawling about underneath is independent suspension with a leaf spring that is inverted on each side.
My concern is that I can not see how the leaf spring pivots for load sharing as I'd expect to see.
I then looked to see if this is a suspension alteration done out back in the shed by someone as an after thought, but there is no sign of this happening, it all looks to be original going by the gal on the chassis being intact along its length.
My question is....
Has anyone come across the dual axle load sharing independent suspension from jayco with the one leaf spring per side?

This is something I have seen on Coromals etc. Yes, I have been looking for 18 months and sick of it.... :)

PS.
Thanks for all the real helpful info here, I have loitered for a while following someone here guiding me here from another forum.

The simplicity is load share, unlike the J-Tech, It is a very simple set up, only draw back I have found seems to be fairly common of scrubbing tyres.

Welcome to the mob and hope we hear more from you, as for the Simplicity gear a mate has this set up and thinks they are the Ducks Whatsit's, does seem similar to the Coromal set up which I have found pretty good.

Thanks folks.
I have managed to find info on this, it is a great set up and in use for many trailers out there, I am a bit surprised to find it under a Jayco. No discredit to the Jayco brand, I have just assumed they are built to a good price and the flash gear is elsewhere for more $$.
Anyway, this video explains the suspension in action perfectly. Hope the link works...

Now i'm off to pay a deposit... happy days.
Then to find someone to check the wheel alignment, as we're going to clockup about 4,500 k's these holidays with it.
I'll share the van in the correct section after we get it, which, i hope to be for this weekend.

For an alghinment I would find a place like Truck Alighn, a car type place or van place would be useless.

Hey Dave welcome mate. Hope your well? I reckon all the swaggers will end up here eventually?

It was an jayco option and fitted to a few, by reports worked well. Pretty much been replaced on most vans now by trailing arm independant but it does load share as above which is great.

Thanks folks, and swaggers...
I got place here on the Gold Coast who specialises in trailer and truck alignments.
I'll start a thread about it and give feed back how it goes.

Thanks. The local guy knows it, and I have checked history of the van and it has not been done before. Not expecting any surprises, it is a wife feel good factor, just like the ESC when I explained it to her. Browny points for me....

Hi Dave
I have a 2010 1756-2 expanda with simplicity and it is great, Ive had van for 2 years and travelled 40000 kms on an off road and no scrubbing of tyres, in fact the original tyres are still on the van.
The guy that services my van reckons simplicity setup is one of the best.
Cheers
