after having carpet in the old swan and reading everyones comments, carpet has now been cut to size for the floor. just wish Jayco could have made it simpler to cut a template to suit!

hey Burnsy, they just ran their machine around the edge like they would if it was on a mat, not perfect on the tight round corners but it will stop fraying. $120 so i cant complain. i made the profile out of plastic and dropped it off and picked it up the next day.

That looks excellent.
I love the idea of making these like mats.
You can just take them out and clean them whenever you like.
How many pieces did you end up with?

Nice one. We're carpet converts of many years standing (Swan and Flamingo) and now doing our long term test living in our Expanda at the beach since just prior to Christmas. Carpet in this one is fantastic, no sand or grit under foot and sweeps clean in a few minutes. Insulating and soft underfoot. Housekeeper uses Freedom spray cleaner for any spots.

Wife reminded me. Measure twice, cut once. She used pattern for the Expanda floor as well. Got carpet from the oddments end of a carpet warehouse for $80. Because of fiddly Expanda floor plan had lots left over so made two mats for in front of sink/stove and doorway. Had them overlocked for $30. Haven't quite solved problem of mats creeping on carpet yet. A few people roll their eyes when you talk carpet, but they haven't had it in their vans to see the advantages.

Xpanda fan, try the velcro strip from cark rubber,if you buy the prickly side only it has adhesive on one side which you would stick to the under side of your mat, it might help grab the carpet on the floor?
