17.56-2 site size

I will be picking up my expanda 17.56-2 next month and would like to know what size caravan site to book,i have also had the draw bar extended. I think i have read somewhere i should book a 24' site but not sure where i read this to confirm.

Your van will be 25'4" extended (7.7m) and ideally you want a couple of feet clear at each end for comfort. Easier to say you've got a 27' van. My 18.57.7 runs to 29' with the bed end flys, so I ask for site for a 30' rig. Hope that helps.

Because the front end extends over the drawbar, it is the equivalent of 23.?? even though the expanded length is 25.4. We just say 24 feet and usually have no worries.

Yep I always state our van as a 24' & never had an issue.

usually tell them it's an expanda too so they know that you need the full length

I'll normally say 27' 'once set up'.
Last stop I just said a 17' van, and they answered "oh, an expanda is it?" Don't know where they got that from

I think most normal vans go 15,16 then 18 feet. In Qld parks they refer to the van size without the drawbar (hence 24 feet) not sure about other states though we stayed at 8 parks across Victoria on the 18-24 foot sites and didn't seem to have any issues.
