OK I'm heading to Ningaloo Station with the wife and two kids (8-10)
It is a total BYO camp with no water, etc available
The questions are

1 How much water is enough (not including drinking water) for washing up showers every few days etc.
2 How much Gas is enough (probably use the weber BabyQ and the fridge
3 How much Fuel for the Gennie (not sure if this will be needed as I have 200w solar and 200ah battery)

I have not been to Ningaloo before so if anyone has any tips please let me know

sounds like it will be a nice getaway.
I don't have a gennie but I would have thought a full tank + a 5L jerry can would be heaps. We have bush camped without the need of a top up but have LED lights. I don't know what the 2012 vans have.
What water tanks do you currently have. We have 2 x 82L and I reckon that would be enough for us. As it looks like you will be on the beach you can freshen up in the surf without soap of coarse and just rinse off the salt under your shower to minimise water use.
We have 2 x 9kg gas cylinders and that would be heaps and I would go as far as saying 1 cylinder would be fine but we don't have a weber.

4 people showering each day for a week would chew through at least 50 ltrs of tank water per day, emptying both your tanks in just over 3 days just showering. @MDS69 has the best tip, clean off in the surf, and rinse off the salt with the same water for everyone. Although we have a bathroom onboard, we carry a Coleman HWS for free camping; that way we can use pretty much any water we can find without poisoning the tanks.

You should get around 3 weeks of fridge gas on a 150ltr Dometic fridge with a single 9kg bottle. The hot water service with chew I suspect similar if you leave it on. That leave you 3 - 4 kg for the Weber ...... depending on how much you use it you'll either just sneak in, or just run out I suspect.

For washing have a spray bottle of detergent/water mix. Wipe off what you can with paper towel and spray with the soapy mix to "wash".

My 2.0kW gennie uses 2ltr/3hrs running the 3kW aircon. Aircon aside I wouldn't be using the gennie, and your 200w panel/200ah battery should see you through. A 10ltr gerry and a full tank would give me 20 plus hours of run time.

We'll be heading to Ningaloo Reef next year, so Im looking forward to you pics and posts

You'll be fine with gas and solar power. Unless it's really overcast.

The only limitation will be water so use whatever you have sparingly.

As said, surf gives a good freshen up and top up spare bottles whenever.

Drink beer!

Thanks all for your tips.
Yeah swim in the surf and a quick rinse will be the go.
Probably wont bother turning on the HWS as even in April it is pretty warm up there.
Crusty when are you going there and have you booked yet ?
We are going to Winderbandi Point,

To all these people who reckon that you can freshen up in the surf, what is the water temperature. We don't go in it unless it's at least 30C and anything less than that in air temp and the pores don't open up to get smelly so a flannel wash is sufficient.

When you send the bloke at Ningaloo a email don't expect a response for a while.
Better to call him.
If your there when i'm there I will catch up for a drink.
Sure ... I like the sound of that. There are a number of different areas to camp?? What dates are you booked in??

Can we use your shower ;) .... then I don't have to carry too much water

OK I just read back and saw your post
Are you going to Ningaloo Station ? Ningaloo Reef is large and there are a lot of places to go
But if it is the station the there are 5 places to camp
Winderabandi Point
North Lefroy Bay
Point Billie
South Lefroy Bay
Jane’s Bay

The road in is apparently ordinary (like many stations in the NW) you cant really call them roads unless they are freshly graded.
We are there from the 9th to the 16th I think

And no you can't use my shower :D

Ningaloo Reef stretches from Carnarvon to Exmouth (about 300km on the water)
There is a lot of places to camp/stay along that section
Coral Bay is probably the best spot but can be almost impossible to get in sometimes.
Ningaloo station is just north of Coral Bay (about 50km) but takes ages due to the track or so i'm told.

Coral Bay has shops, boats, a resort and restaurants
Ningaloo Station has nothing but scenery and great fishing and you get to camp on the beach,

I will pay you a fair price for your water (my fair price) :p

Bit late with this I know, but if either of you ( @NoWorries and @Crusty181 ) are in coral bay during april school holidays. We will be there too. We will be in Peoples park, which is the caravan park before the pub. (2nd on the left). Also recommend Bernie (skipper of the Mahi Mahi 3) and his fishing tours if you want to catch some decent sized fish.
