1 / 2 night stays over xmas new years

Question fella’s and ladies

Taking the van to Brisbane over Xmas for our accommodation at the inlaws. On the way back the weekend after News years, we were thinking of stopping mid way down the coast for say Sat/ Sun night.

BUT, 99% of caravan parks will be fully booked, minimum 1 week bookings etc. Thinking of taking a list of all numbers and calling on the day for any 1 night vacancies, or if this fail have some free camp spots as back ups ?

Any ideas ?????? not really fussed where, was thinking Port Macquarie area ?

Grab the Camps 7 book/app and the Wiki Camps app, and free camp somewhere on the way home! There are some great places to camp along the way, I'm sure!

I have a Free Camps book, more curious about trying to get into a park for the two night. Has anyone been able to get in last minute if they had a cancellation etc ?

I live down the great ocean road and most caravan parks down this way keep a site or two open for the through traffic. Not sure about NSW etc but I don't see why they wouldn't as people are on the road at that time of year.

Just booked two side by side sites at forbes big 4 from the 27th-2nd.

Yeah sure it aint the coast but it will be relaxing...... feel lucky to get in anywhere considering our family reunion at cloverleigh golf club fell apart earlier in the week and got postponed to easter.

Cant wait to see another part of our great country!

We just back from yamba, we were in the blue dolphin park which was busy but down the road at the big 4 it was real quiet.

We stayed at BIG4 Forbes back on Oct long weekend.

Great little park, best grass ever, but it is a small park, pool is tiny and they are in drought country, dusty dirt roads through park but it is a great place. It's not you large BIG4, moire a small family afair.
