I was wondering does Jayco still fill there tyres with nitrogen, and if they do, does anyone go to the trouble of using notrogen to top up when recommended tyre pressure falls.
2 weeeks to go till pick up!

Seriously nitrogen filled tyres on our vans are a waste of time and the cost , its not like were traveling at 100s km and once you top up with the ol compressor youve stuffed the nitrogen
cheers Russell

I always use a 78.9% Nitrogen mix (for the technical among you, I mix that with 20.95% Oxygen and a pinch of Argon and Carbon Dioxide.)
Find it works really well and when pumped up to correct pressure my tyres never look flat.

Nitrogen works great on the road bike and i never have to worry about incorrect pressures at high speeds :flame:but i drive a little slower with the van so i think its over kill. Also as your typical guy i like to tinker with the van before i go away and checking the tyre pressure is a small part in the precheck .:drum:

I was at Jayco today and asked about the nitrogen, it comes standard now. I asked the question because on a recent trip up the Oodnadatta track i wanted to lower my tyre pressure on the van as i did on the Patrol to soften the corrugations, i did not end up lowering the van because i diddnt know if i could get them pumped up at Coober Pedy of the Alice. i would prefer normal air moving forwards so might have them changed.

Nitrogen only keeps the pressure constant at all tyre temps I wouldn't be to worried about having nitrogen or not, we don't anymore. Correct tyre pressures are more important in my opinion.

i agree, tyre pressure is more important, i will be saying goodbye to the nitrogen!

No need to change anything - just treat them as air from now on, no problems. Fresh air is 80% nitrogen and it'll just get diluted a bit.

Thanks for that info, so no drama just letting down and topping up with air?

Yep. Just pretend you never heard of Nitrogen in them and proceed as normal.
I do still use Dihydrogen Monoxide to clean the van though, even though it can cause death*.
