The Calypso Caravan Park here in Yamba is up nearly 2000 visitors last financial year !! We might have to put boom gates coming into town.!! Plus the council is going to spend millions on it.I think more upmarket cabins less caravan space. Cabins at Brunswick Hds a couple of weeks a go $240.00 per night.Only average.!! The new prestige cabins yet to be opened at Evans Head make most houses look a bit shabby.

So many great parks being turned into cabin parks, a lot cost more than a motel.....never hear from the motels about van parks stealing their business like parks and free campers.

Having a week at Tallebudgera CP from 14th December with our daughter and two grandsons. They have a special of 30% off before 21st Dec so we took advantage of it. Hopefully, some fishing and swimming, a bit of kayaking and maybe try our daughter’s SUP. Looking forward to it.

Well thats close enough so when you find out youvé forgotten something like towels, swimmers, wheel nuts it's only a short walk home........:p ..:bolt:

A very nice spot. Pricey but the 30% makes it definitely doable!

Hi all,
Planning a 2 week trip in Feb 2019, usually fairly hot here in SA at that time of year so figured we’d head down south to Beachport (3 days) then on to Cape Otway to try and escape at least some of the heat. We did Great Ocean Road 2 years ago and decided then we’d like to spend at least a week exploring the cape.

Was thinking that we might base ourselves for 7 days in the “bush camp” part of Bimbi Campgrounds and was wondering if anyone has firsthand experience of this area or the park in general? Any suggestions on what to see or do are appreciated. We’ll be taking the kayak as well so always looking for places to go for a paddle.

We’ve deliberately chosen mid Feb as school holidays have finished and there’s no public holidays close by so hopefully the place won’t be packed. Ahhh the best laid plans!!!!

Bluey, Intend to take a look at Johana Beach but reckon I might leave the Yak at camp, the wife is not too keen on the surf when it’s over 6ft :p

Make sure you go to johana beach can camp there too great beach but care must be taken if you got kids full on ocean beach strong rips big waves if bells is 4 foot swell johanna will be 10 foot or more but a great beach
Youd need one of those great looking, but very difficult to source, epoxy imitation wood panel 7"6' mini mal for a beach like that @Bluey (along with heart and ability to use it). I vaguely recall some Muppet who's name escapes me that has precisely such an awesome board

You'll just end up as fish food if you do, swimmers are on top of the menu at the moment......

Sounds great @Bluey it took us 2 days to get to Birdsville from Innamincka we made it to the development road the first day, we had to go the Cordilla Downs road the others were impassable due to flood damage. Just remember you have to get back as well
