@willobee,

You should be really happy with your choice. We had the Tekonsha P3 and changed to the Tow-Pro and will not be going back. Our knees love it too!

How long do you have to wait for the van to arrive?

Cheers,

Ro

Hi @Tricky. We have a 17.56-2 OB due soon. I bought a Redarc on eBay and saved a fair bit off the RRP. It will be installed next week (along with the 12 pin plug).

I have also just purchased the Tow pro from ebay. I like the idea of the smaller unit - and looks easier to use. Waiting on delivery to fit it. I'm now on the research hunt for reverse cameras. I would like to get the wiring all done at the same time.

P3 for us as well. Never really had the knee issue and it's worked faultlessly up to this point.

Hi all,
We have just had the P3 installed
.
After reading a number of opinions on both here and other forums we thought the P3 sounded the better unit but would have been happy with either to be honest. Was worried about knocking knees, but had it installed like this (after seeing similar photos on another forum):

Thanks @dagree,
I hope we never need it either but before install my wife and I both sat in the drivers seat and tried to imagine an emergency situation.
It's actually a very easy place to reach quickly, and certainly better/quicker than down low near our knees. Perfect place would probably be on top of dash behind the 2 o'clock hand on the steering wheel, but this ran a very close second.
Cheers

I had my P3 mounted on the dash at about the 2 o'clock as well on my GQ Patrol
on the GU & the Cruiser, both are at my left knee, would have preferred the right knee, but getting in and out was the main point for on the left

never hit either with my knee's as yet
