OK, so @cruza driver and @Moto Moto are on to me.
We went away for a little trip over the long weekend down to Yass and stayed in a friends backyard.
The van was awesome! Only issue for me was the mattress is a little harder than I would like. Boo Hoo I hear you say.

The shower is fantastic and all worked really well. Everything else seems to work as planned. Put the awning out for a look and found that the LED strip has been damaged in the middle. Still works but the silicone covering is broken away

Van towed really well behind the BT50. Average fuel consumption was 18L/100km

Unfortunately it was a very steep entry up the driveway and I bottomed out on the back bumper and spare wheel. Tore the wheel cover and bent the bracket. All good fun though.

Also got a call from Australia Wide Annexes today. My new annex is in! It will be fit next Tuesday. I'll need to take the van to a local park so we have enough room to put the awing out

OK, so I'm planning to add an inverter (so I can run the coffee machine)
I'm thinking about going all out and getting a 2oooW Projecta
http://www.projecta.com.au/Products/Inverters/Intelli-Wave.aspx

The IP 2000 has an auto switching function. I am thinking of wiring it up just after the 240 input into the van so that when there is no 240 the inverter will automatically switch on and power all power points.
All good.
My question is about the SETEC.
If I wire it this way I assume the SETEC will think that it has 240V power and will try to charge the batteries etc and suck more power from the inverter in a vicious cycle. Has anyone got experience with this?

Maybe I'm going for too much. Maybe I get a cheap ebay inverter and just have one 240V powerpoint,

I would go with a PowerPoint, probably a different colour so you know it is powered by the inverter. That way you won't need any electrickery to stop the Setec seeing a 240V input when you use the inverter. Sure there are modules out the for this purpose, but could be another thing to go wrong.

I sort of did .
I have an external power point from the inverter next to the vans power inlet point . I just use a short lead to connect them .
I only fear not doing what your doing was that the vans inlet PowerPoint has the prongs exposed and they would be "live"
Once 240v was on through the inverter and someone may touch it .
While away at Philip Island racetrack campground we used the inverter and it worked magic .
The only thing I found was it used a lot of battery .
But that may have been me . I ran tv , foxtel , all lights , phone chargers , cooktop fan , outside lights , fusion unit plus more and left it on over night and the batteries lasted 2 days till the low battery beeper came on .
It was very over cast so the panels weren't working 100% .
Once off by the next day batteries were charged.
We have a 1500/2000 w inverter and have 105 /130 ahr batteries with a 120 w and 2 x 110 w panels .

Relgate, I had the ip2000 installed in our Starcraft 20.62-2 by an electrician which auto switches 240/12. When it is not on 240 it has been wired to bypass setec charger, HWS, Fridge 240. All other 240 points in the van are connected. As we are always off grid, it is only switched on when needed via the remote head unit included. We have roof Top satellite, washing machine, coffee machine, razor that it runs, everything else is 12v. Have 150w solar on roof & 120w portable panels running through a Cetek D250S that are more than adequate with keeping up with our usage.

Cheers Rob

Brilliant. Sounds like exactly what I want to do.
Any idea how the SETEC etc was bypassed?
Also, is the ip2000 installed after or before the RCD (trip switch)?

Sorry relgate I don't know how it is installed, I had it professionally done by a company that specialises in caravan electrics. It's not something that I mess about with, don't mind the 12v jobs.
