Just bought a Baby Q100 2 weeks ago for the van - have done roast beef, bbq chicken, bbq steak, pizza's and all have turned out beautifully. We LOVE it! It's currently sitting on the deck at home and being well used. We bought the high lid model which is only available from specialist dealers (Weber website has details) - it's only $10 more than the standard lid! Accessories we bought were the pizza stone, trivet, griddle plate and the cleaning brush (got this from BBQ's Galore as they are only $12 compared to $19 for the Weber one). This weekend we went out and bought the collapsible trolley as well which will come in handy for the van.
I am now going to sell the Cobb Cooker and Thermal cooker as they won't be needed anymore!
Can't wait to get away and make all our friends jealous! Bring on Easter and Mallacoota for 2 weeks.

Chartrock have you tried out the new lid?

And did both lids have the thermometer in them?

G'day CD. Yes, I have tried out the new lid and everything is now good. No more smoking ( I have only done sausages and some pork rissoles). I have yet to convince LOTO to let me try a roast. The griddle now sits where it is supposed to and the lid closes properly.

No, there is no thermometer in either lid and nothing extra from Weber :flypig: for the pain and suffering.

Hey everyone, don't right off the Cobb for a great pizza and the camp oven for a yabby & chilli calzone!

Hey Mr Moderator......
how about a dedicated 'cooking' sub-section. It looks like this post has received a bit of interest ????? Not just limited to Qs though - any bush or bbq cooking. Post a few loved recipes or as many above, completed works of art to get the creative (and digestive) juices flowing.
I know I'm looking at thinking "I didn't know I could do THAT"

Good idea SD,
Great recipes from your Expanda adventures, regardless of where you cooked it. A whole sub section dedicated to cooking and sharing recipes. Bush and BBQ cooking.
Yummy, bring it on.

Hi Russell - we also have a 220 and I searched high and low to find a good way to store and protect it. I eventually found a cheap and easy solution by buying a swag bag (a bag to put a swag in) from our local camping shop. The bag is water proof and I can even have the BBQ in it when it is on the stand. I just wait a few hours till it cools down, fold it all up and zip the bag back around it. It keeps the rain and any other pests out.

When on the road I put it on top of a big plastic crate (which is full of our bbq'ing and small outdoor bit) on the drawbar above the spare Tyre. I didn't want to have it in the van or car mainly because of the smell.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

Hey Ben,
We have the Q120 with high lid, flaps and temp guage. Works a treat for a 1.5kg roast and also a alfoil tub for veges.
Will post some pics when we set it up at Lake Awoonga over Easter.
Cheers
Deano
