14' Series Towing

Hi All,
About to purchase a 14.44.4 OB,
Currently we have an MDC camper trailer which tows fantastic, just wanted to know how the 14" tow with the new jTech suspension, are they top heavy, do any of you use stabiliser bars?
Any info would be appreciated.

What vehicle are you towing with?

We usually tow with an Isuzu Mu-x or Dmax

We tow a 14.44-4OB with a 120 series petrol Prado. Previously we had a soft floor CT. You will certainly notice the difference in weight and behaviour. Having said that it does tow well. A few months ago we did the Darling River run and the J-Tech suspension was a dream over cattle grids etc. We have the Trig hitch and no WDH.

As @twscoot said it will depend more on your tow vehicle then anything else but for the record we have a newish 14.44-4 ob with the j tech suspension and tow it with a 3.2 auto ranger with suspension by ultimate. Don't need any bars and tows it really easy, handles great, like it's hardly even there.

Shouldn't need a WDH with a 14footer unless grossly overloaded or towing with a Corolla or similar, with a D Max if your suspension drops heaps then your springs are shot............it should hardly notice it behind.

Depends on the sag and stability if you need WDH or not. Seeing we almost got a MUX, Isuzu do not recommend using WDH.
If you have a factory fitted tow bar you might need to shorten the Hayman Reece hitch as the location of the spare will not let you lock in the pin.

Update, we purchased the Van, took it for a tow test, tows great behind the MU-X.
