Just remembered another approach for glasses etc...for top cupboards which are too small for proper and useful containers.

We had some good square styofoam packing that was in the pile to go to the dump. I measured and cut a piece the same size as the top cupboard then cut insets for glasses (in our case, pewter wine not glass) and the sauce plastic bottles which are always a pain to fit in.

They just sit there and don't move, even on really rough roads and are easy to keep tidy.

Cost nothing!

I tried it with pots pans etc but it took too much room so didn't work. For that we now just use a piece of nonslip stuff in between pots and that replaced the foam carpet underlay which is thicker and equally useful.

Masters do some good plastic tubs as well. I got some to keep our crockery, mixing bowls, cutting boards etc that are also stackable so no wasted vertical space. These live in the cupboard to the right of the sink.

And another ....though depends on style of camping.

We always cook, eat and wash up outside so have one shallowish container with basic requirements of plates, cutlery washing up liquid, tea towel etc stored in that and it travels on the dinette under the doonas.

The container is for washing up.

We just take it outside, use the stuff for cooking, washing up etc then it goes back to the seat when we pack up.

We're lazy! It does save fluffing around finding stuff then remembering where to put it back.

We use silicon collapsible tubs and buckets, can store in the front boot.

A good thing about that method is you can use that container to carry your dishes, detergent etc to a camp kitchen to wash up. We use the camp kitchen where possible for washing up to
A) use someone else's hot water and save our water and whatever method you use to heat it up and have a few beers
B) have some decent light and maybe a TV and a few beers
C) swap stories with fellow travellers over a few beers

All the above....and we find its all quicker to pack up.

And quickly available for roadside stops.

And easy to keep together on external drop down table.

(We do behave like normal people when camped for more than one night but for overnight.....the easy and lazy way works for us)
