Hello Peoples
I have come to the decision about my lack of welding ability (easy decision) and lack of time (harder to admit) :( to make a decent drop down spare wheel holder as I need to get it done before next school holidays in September. Does anybody in Perth know someone/company that could do the job. Prefer north of the river but beggars can't be choosy.

Burnsey on here makes them. PM him, also I posted a pdf drawing of a drop down bar on here some years ago? It would be good enough for any local fabricator to follow. Failing you can't find it let me know I probably still have it.

@jandl give Ironmonger Fabrications in Malaga a try (9209 1478 or 0416 244 727).... Ask for Glen and tell him David Stephen recommended him to you (he owes me a few favours ;) )

He specialises in stainless but does mild steel as well.

Ill be doing mine soon Im in Perth as i need it before Sept 25th as heading to Warroora. I have a slightly different design I am going to try. basically weld in a 200mm section of 63mm then make up the bracket on 50mm with 50mm round tube added to the end . So you remove the pin slide out 200mm then you can rotate it on the round tube . Im a bit of a hack though :)

Hi guys, I got a drop down spare wheel holder from coromal caravans in Mandurah for $150 from memory. They just asked if it was a five or six stud pattern and only took a week to come from their factory. Nothing fancy but for the price I thought why not. Its just a length of RHS that pivots within a length of C channel with a flange on top for the wheel and secured using a pin and R clip. Welded that straight to the Jayco rear bar as mine is the 100mm RHS. Sorry no photos.

Thank you for help and offers. I was a bit stuck on what to do but you guys have given me options which is what I like about this forum. Not impressed that my brother, who was a welder, decided to move to Darwin for work when I want something fabricated and welded on my van, thats very inconsiderate of him :biggrin-26:.
@Colin&Sue I would have taken you up on your offer if it wasn't a tad far but thank you for offering :)
Thanks
@achjimmy I will search tonight and possibly tomorrow if work runs well, keeping the lights on up here is preventing me from researching this forum for answers;)
Thanks
@dagree for giving me a name and company to approach, that is very kind of you. I will call them tomorrow, work permitting, and I would think with a combination of @Stephen Galvin's, @achjimmy's and @GUlewis's ideas and what you have done I could sort something out.
Cheers
Larry
